BORN TO FLY- CHILDREN HOLIDAY PROGRAM
PRAISE GOD for another wonderful Born To Fly program from 2nd to 4th and 11th July. Since it started 5 years ago, Hope Melbourne has seen this free program grown to more than 300 registered children this year. The registration has been capped at 300 for the last couple of years. BTF has gained much acceptance and recognition in the community.

On the third day the parents were invited for lunch and the children were given the opportunity to showcase what they learnt in the last couple of days. The Deputy Mayor of Monash, Cr Charlotte BAINES who attended the Celebration Lunch was amazed at the progress of the program and encouraged the volunteers to keep up the good work.
Orderliness, Initiative and Self-Control were the character traits taught in the program this year through songs, skits, puppetry, games and crafts. The characters are taught through the day by the various activities to capture the children’s interest and concentration. BTF has the vision to bring the church to the community, to bless the community and to invest into the future generation.
Parents wrote to show their appreciation:
‘Thank you so much for the great time Emily Peipers had while she was there. It was our first year and I wasn't sure what to expect. Emily raved about the place and is already talking about going next school holidays you have it. Thank you to you all.’
'To everyone involved with the fantastic program, we thank you so very much for providing such a fun, caring and safe environment for Emily. She had the most wonderful time and has not stopped talking about it. To all the team leaders, you have done an amazing job and created a fantastic memory that I believe will be with Emily forever. The only thing that has disappointed Emily, is that she has to wait until next year to do the next program. With your permission, Emily would like to perform the songs to her class when she does her school holiday report to the class. Thank you again.’

Praise God for our first opportunity in BTF to work together across centres, with Darebin and City centres. Praise God that the volunteers were also impacted. Feedback from volunteers include personal growth in personal character, experience which helps in their job opportunity bringing BTF to their Life Group.

We thank God for the success of BTF 2009. We thank God for more than 300 children who came along and were blessed.
We thank God for the tremendous team spirit among all the volunteers, who persevered with their responsibilities despite experiencing tiredness trying to keep up with all the kids for 3 days. We could really see the excellent spirit and heart of servant hood on display. And it’s really wonderful to see the hands of Hope extended to the community in this way. We feel so privileged to have been part of this year’s Born To Fly!
