FRESH WIND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

“The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going”. The elderly rabbi scratched his white hair as he grappled with the illustration Jesus gave on the work of the Holy Spirit.

When the Spirit of God moves, it is not always possible to work out what God is doing but the evidence may be seen. Surely the Lord’s ways can be mysterious. Only God knows exactly why He moves, how He moves and when He moves. Often, we see only the outcomes.

A purifying wind through the churches

The Spirit of God has been moving in recent times through His Church to cleanse it. And many have felt the wake of this purifying wind. This includes even our family of churches.

Only God understand why He is moving the way He is and His timing in doing so. Yet it is certain that God is bringing a break from the past in our movement and blowing us into a new future.

Bringing the reality of God into our society

New things lay ahead, new challenges, new opportunities, a fresh move of the Spirit. It is a new opportunity to bring freshness into what our family of churches represent. I am excited with the prospects of our movement being re-invigorated with this fresh leading of the Spirit of God.

It is time to be finely honed by God to be an arrow that pierces deep into the contemporary world of the 21st century and to bring Christ into its very heart.

We must become churches that demonstrate relevancy into our multi-faceted society, compassion in our media-hardened communities, bringing truth into the perverse collective consciousness, accountable Christ-like leadership into a self-serving world and the power of God into an unbelieving world.

Moving with the wind of God

When the fresh wind of God blows, we always have a choice. To remain unmoved and be left behind. To break away from the wind and be relegated into our little corner. Or to flow with the wind of God and be swept into His purposes.

I invite you to our coming Oceania Convention 2009 at Philip Island. Our theme is Empower: Moving In the Spirit. (OC 2009 website)

Come and discover how the Spirit of God moves and how you may participate personally in the move of God. One of our key objectives is to empower every delegate to move with God’s Spirit and begin to see supernatural outcomes in their lives and ministry. We believe this will move our churches to a new height in serving God and impacting our towns and cities. We hope also to present fresh news of things that God is doing in our family of churches.

Time of refreshing and celebration

Do pray with us as we lift our expectations in faith to see God move strongly in our midst over the Easter.

It will be a wonderful time to come together in unity and celebrate God. To be encouraged by our fellowship together. To be inspired by our speakers. To be refreshed by God. God is doing a fresh thing in our midst. I invite you to join us in that journey of faith with God.
